Hands-on, outdoor farm and nature session for Elementary and adolescent students

 

Where: Hidden Savanna Farm, County Road PD Verona, WI

At Hidden Savanna Farm we are excited to offer outdoor experiences for elementary and adolescent students to enrich their homeschool school days.

We run hands-on, outdoor science, and nature classes right here at the farm! Classes are taught by highly qualified, enthusiastic guides and provide small groups of students with a unique opportunity for hands-on, experiential learning about nature, ecology, and agriculture in the forests, pastures, and gardens at Hidden Savanna Farm!

Amy Jester

Amy is the Owner and Farm Educator at Hidden Savanna Farm where she partners with schools and families to provide educational experiences for adolescent students. She has undergrad and graduate degrees in Communication and Political Science and a Permaculture Design Certificate. She has been a teacher, coach, and mentor to students in a variety of settings over the past 20 years ranging from the university classroom to a Montessori preschool class. She loves engaging kids on her farm and working with them to follow and develop their interests and knowledge. She passionately believes in connecting people to their food and the land and feels honored to be able to share her farm in service of that mission.

Rebecca Lemar

Rebecca has a Masters in Education, a BS in Health and Human Development and AMI Montessori certifications in both Elementary and Adolescence. She has spent ten years teaching in a Montessori classroom and also years teaching Outdoor Education and Leadership Development at environmental centers. Also a passionate writer, Rebecca contributes to a parenting website called Mudpie Mamas, which offers fun ideas to get children outside and Love Wisconsin, an online local storytelling project that celebrates Wisconsinites. Nature loving and passionate about getting children outside, Rebecca brings enthusiasm and hiking boots to this new program.
